Fried rice - Flowers
Materials
1 or 2 | Egg |
1/2 cup | Cooked rice |
1/8 teaspoon (a pinch) | Salt |
1 tablespoon | Olive oil or vegetable oil |
1 | Orange, sliced |
1 | Cucumber, sliced |
1 | Carrot, sliced (or buy sliced carrots) |
Several | Toothpicks |

Process
Red means kids can do these steps.
- Crack the egg into a bowl, [wash hands], beat the egg
- Add salt, [wash hands], mix
- Put oil in nonstick frying pan, medium flame
- Pour in egg mix, stir fry
- Put in rice when eggs start to set, mix
- Put fried rice in a small bowl or a measuring cup
- [Optional] Peel cucumber
- [Optional] Boil carrot slices for 6 minutes
- Remove cucumber seeds, shape carrot slices
- Flip the bowl of rice onto a plate
- Place orange slices around the rice
- Use a toothpick to assemble carrot and cucumber slices into flowers, place on plate
